Our Talkeetna and Denali hiking trips are a great
option for those who love to walk. The vast Alaskan wilderness can be frightening to even the most avid hikers. Talkeetna Travel's guided hiking tours provide a safe, fun, and educational hiking experience.
Our naturalist guides have years of experience in the Alaskan woods. They will carry bear protection and are trained in bear encounters, first aid, CPR, and emergency procedures, and all carry emergency communications. Put your fears at bay and immerse yourself in the naturally beauty, wildlife, plants and history surrounding you.

Avail. 5/24 - 9/16 - Take a hike! Explore Talkeetna’s
best trail with a great naturalist guide. A new scene of beauty unfolds
around every turn on this three-mile moderate hike. Look for loons and
kingfishers on the lakes, moose and bears in the woods, and Mt. McKinley on
the horizon. This lush old-growth forest is alive with songbirds,
wildflowers, berries, and mushrooms. This is a great trip in any weather.
Includes a delicious snack.
Transportation from your Talkeetna-area lodging is free if within 4 miles
of downtown Talkeetna (North of Fish Lake.) There is a $25 transportation
fee if you need to be picked up south of Fish Lake.

Avail. 5/24 - 9/16 - Immerse yourself in Alaska's tranquil beauty on a two-mile nature walk in Denali State Park. Enjoy magnificent views of Byers Lake and surrounding mountains, perhaps even majestic Mt. McKinley. Learn about the area�s animal and plant life, and take home a healing salve made from native plants. Explore a log cabin that once belonged to a pioneering couple. Hear about how the adventuresome family survived the long winters in this beautiful setting. You may see nesting trumpeter swans, loons, eagles, or bears foraging for spawning salmon. A visit to the Alaska Veterans Memorial and park visitor center offers spectacular vistas of the Alaska Range. The pace of this hike is comfortable, with frequent stops and photo opportunities.
Note: This hike is on a well-maintained trail with approximately 300 feet of elevation gain. Dress for the current weather conditions. Bring your camera, binoculars, and insect repellent.
